Where AgTech Meets the Real World
Greater Yuma is more than an agricultural region—it is a real-world proving ground for agricultural innovation in Arizona.
With year-round production, diverse crops, connected agricultural infrastructure, research partnerships, and growers ready to test new solutions, companies can develop, test, validate, and demonstrate AgTech technologies in real farming conditions.
From precision agriculture and digital agriculture to agricultural robotics, automation, sensors, AI, and water-saving technologies, Greater Yuma offers AgTech field testing opportunities where innovation can move from concept to the field—and toward commercialization.
The Ultimate
AgTech Proving Ground
Technology developed in Greater Yuma is tested against the conditions it will face in the real world.
Yuma: The Sunniest Place on Earth
Year-Round Agriculture.
“During the winter, when everywhere else is under snow or frozen, we’re in full swing. We have 365 days of growing a year—constantly planting, constantly harvesting.”

NIQO ROBOTICS
From Yuma Testing to Commercial Adoption
Niqo Robotics brought its AI-powered agricultural technology to Greater Yuma for real-world field testing and validation. Working with local growers, Axis Ag, and University of Arizona partners, Niqo refined its technology under Yuma’s demanding specialty-crop conditions. Today, its technology has moved beyond testing into commercial use by Yuma-area growers.
Advancing Agricultural Innovation
Greater Yuma supports agricultural technology research through the University of Arizona Yuma Agricultural Center and YCEDA, combining real-world field testing, connectivity, and industry partnerships.
GYEDC was awarded a $300,000 planning grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) to conduct a feasibility study for a proposed Smart Farm AgTech Incubator, exploring opportunities for technology development, startup support, and commercialization.
Connecting Yuma's Agricultural Future
Yuma County's agricultural broadband initiative is designed to expand wireless connectivity across the region's agricultural lands, supporting precision agriculture, equipment connectivity, irrigation monitoring, sensors, and emerging AgTech applications.
Figures represent planned network coverage and infrastructure, not confirmed operational service across all locations.
LEARN ABOUT THE AGRICULTURAL BROADBAND PROJECT
From agricultural robotics and digital agriculture to precision farming technology, Greater Yuma connects AgTech companies with research partners, local growers, and real-world opportunities to advance agricultural innovation.
