The sustainable infrastructure technology company will establish an approximately 55,000-square-foot manufacturing campus in Greater Yuma.
Beam Global, a leading provider of sustainable infrastructure solutions for transportation, energy security and smart cities, has selected Yuma, Arizona, for the relocation of its U.S. manufacturing and production operations.
The company will establish its Yuma campus in two adjacent industrial buildings totaling approximately 55,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space. According to the company’s announced schedule, Beam Global planned to occupy the first building on July 15, 2026, followed by the second building on January 1, 2027.
Beam Global will maintain its corporate headquarters in San Diego, California. Production is expected to continue without interruption during the transition.
The relocation represents an important addition to Greater Yuma’s advanced manufacturing sector and highlights the region’s ability to support innovative companies seeking room to grow. Beam Global cited Yuma’s competitive operating environment, transportation infrastructure and manufacturing workforce among the factors behind its decision.
“This relocation is one of the most impactful steps we can take to improve our gross margins and move more quickly toward becoming cash flow positive while positioning ourselves for significant growth and saving money,” said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Beam Global.
Beam Global develops and manufactures technology for electric vehicle charging, energy storage, energy security, transportation and smart-city applications. Its proprietary products are designed, engineered and manufactured in the United States and at facilities in Europe and the Middle East.
The company’s new Yuma campus is located within an established manufacturing area with convenient road and rail access. This connectivity is expected to support efficient shipping and supply-chain operations as the company expands.
“Beam Global’s relocation to Yuma is a significant investment in our community and a strong endorsement of Yuma’s competitive business environment,” said Cindy Blot, assistant director of community development for the City of Yuma. “The company will bring innovative manufacturing operations, quality employment opportunities and a commitment to sustainable technology that aligns with our vision for long-term economic growth.”
Beam Global anticipates that the move will generate approximately $400,000 in rent savings during 2026 and $2.7 million over its five-year lease compared with its current California facility. The company also expects to benefit from Arizona’s competitive costs for labor, employee benefits, insurance, utilities, regulatory compliance and other business operations.
Yuma’s proximity to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma offers another strategic advantage. Beam Global plans to draw on the region’s veteran community and skilled manufacturing workforce as it recruits employees and evaluates opportunities to bring additional production processes in-house.
Greater Yuma supports more than 18,000 industrial production jobs and maintains an industrial manufacturing turnover rate of approximately 3%. The region’s dedicated industrial training facilities offer more than 13 licenses and certifications in fields including welding, electrical systems, industrial maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, process control and advanced manufacturing technology.
The region also provides access to 52 million consumers within a one-day truck haul and more than 100 million consumers within two days, giving manufacturers an efficient connection to major North American markets.
Beam Global’s selection of Yuma strengthens the region’s growing advanced manufacturing and sustainable technology sectors. It also demonstrates Greater Yuma’s value to companies seeking competitive operating costs, workforce resources, logistical advantages and a community committed to their long-term success.
