AWC Manufacturing Center 

Yuma County is home to the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center, where students gain hands-on training in advanced industrial through 13 manufacturing programs. In partnership with Arizona Western College, the center offers certifications aligned with National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) standards, covering key areas such as maintenance operations, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, process control, and welding. These programs allow students to enter the workforce quickly as Manufacturing Technicians while continuing to build additional certifications that advance their skills and careers.

The center is also flexible and responsive to industry needs, with the ability to create new certifications as demand arises, ensuring local employers have access to a highly skilled workforce.

Future48 Workforce Accelerator: Building Yuma County’s Next‑Generation Talent 

Arizona’s Future48 Workforce Accelerators connect students and adult learners with the high‑demand careers supported by Yuma County’s advanced manufacturing training center, including electrical technology, broadband fiber optics, solar installation, and modern manufacturing.

In 2026, Arizona officially opened the Future48 Workforce Accelerator in Wellton, Arizona, a 5,600‑square‑foot facility designed to expand hands‑on training in high‑growth, high‑skill industries. This expansion strengthens Yuma County’s ability to prepare workers for modern manufacturing and technical careers.
